Upcoming event: Regulating Mobile Roaming Charges Conference

On 12th of April, Forum Europe will organise a one-day policy conference on the regulation of roaming charges in Brussels. The forum will bring together stakeholders in the roaming regulation process and key persons from the European Institutions. Speakers will include Vesa Terävä, Acting Head of Unit B2 – Implementation of Regulatory Framework, DG Infso, European Commission; Martin Whitehead, Director, GSMA Europe and Chris Fonteijn, Chairman, BEREC & OPTA.

Europe United proposal for lower roaming fees

Europe United today presented its proposal to the European Commission consultation on roaming fees. “Our proposals will allow for lower roaming fees in the EU and the establishment of a single market for roaming and telecom services in general”, Europe United President Bengt Beier stated.

Campaign against Roaming fees gathers support

The new Europe United campaign against unfair and excessive roaming charges by mobile phone companies is quickly gathering new supporters. Within a few weeks, the facebook group has gathered over 750 members and is growing exponentially.

“This shows the discontempt of Europeans over this unfair practice of phone providers.” stated Bengt Beier, President of Europe United. The European Union has already started a public consultation on this issue where Europe United will stand up for the rights of consumers.
