The ThinkTank “ThinkYoung” is conducting a survey to determine how young Europeans aged 18-35 view the planned elimination of roaming charges and issues of net neutrality in the framework of the European Commission’s proposal for creating a European single market for electronic communications.

A survey by technology news website ZDNet revealed that customers feel “ripped-off” by data roaming charges. The biggest issues noted were a lack of transparency, extremely high prices for using data roaming and the feeling that high roaming fees are misplaced in a Europe of open borders. In Europe, 77% of those surveyed stated that they think data roaming is too expensive. Most importantly, customers would use their mobile phones more when abroad if prices were lower.
